Why CableTiesMFG

Material & Engineering Quality

Every 4 inch zip tie is manufactured from virgin Nylon 66 under ISO 9001 quality management.

Virgin Nylon 66 Resin

100% virgin PA66 -- never recycled or blended. Each batch is tested for consistent tensile strength, elongation at break, and heat deflection temperature. No brittle fillers or impurities.

UV-Stabilized (Black)

Carbon black additive provides UV resistance for outdoor use. Withstands years of sunlight, moisture, and thermal cycling in solar, telecom, and outdoor electrical applications.

Stainless Steel Locking Barb

Precision stainless steel barb inside the pawl delivers consistent one-way locking. Bent tip accelerates hand insertion. Smooth body edges protect wire and cable insulation.

Two Profiles

Standard vs. Miniature -- Pick the Right Width

We manufacture 4 inch cable ties in two distinct profiles for different installation environments. Both carry the same 18 lbs tensile strength rating.

STD

Standard (0.14" wide)

The workhorse for general electrical, automotive, and HVAC bundling. Wider body distributes clamping force across more surface area.

MINI

Miniature (0.10" wide)

Narrower profile for tight spaces: PCB cable management, electronics assembly, and small-gauge wire routing where a standard head won't fit.

Use Cases

Where 4 Inch Zip Ties Are Used

The 4-inch length handles most small-to-medium bundling tasks -- compact enough for enclosures, long enough for multi-cable routing.

Electrical & Panel

Bundle conductors and organize control wiring inside distribution panels and junction boxes.

Automotive Harness

Route sensor cables, secure connectors, and manage under-dash wiring. UV black for engine bay.

Data Center

Dress patch cables and manage server rack cabling. Miniature ties fit between rack units.

Home & Office

Tidy computer cables, home theater, and desk cable management. Clear ties blend in.

Outdoor & Telecom

Secure cables on towers, solar frames, and outdoor equipment. UV-stabilized for sun exposure.

Manufacturing

Secure components for shipping, attach labels, and bundle materials on production lines.

Size Guide

How the 4 Inch Compares to Other Zip Tie Lengths

The 4 inch zip tie is the most compact size in our standard lineup -- ideal for small wire bundles, PCB cable routing, and single-cable management where longer ties would be bulky or wasteful.

As your bundle diameter increases, step up to longer sizes. CableTiesMFG manufactures zip ties from 4 inch to 60 inch lengths in standard and heavy-duty tensile strengths.

Real-World Use

Proven in the Field

Our 4 inch zip ties are used daily in electrical panels, automotive assembly lines, data centers, and outdoor telecom installations across North America and Europe.

Each tie is engineered for consistent performance -- the same locking force on the first tie as on the thousandth. That consistency is why OEMs and contractors choose CableTiesMFG for production-critical applications.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about our 4 inch zip ties.

What is the width of a 4 inch zip tie?
Standard: 0.14" (3.6 mm). Miniature: 0.10" (2.5 mm). Both rated at 18 lbs tensile. Choose miniature for PCB work and electronics, standard for general bundling.
Zip ties vs cable ties -- what's the difference?
No difference -- same product. "Zip tie" is the common name, "cable tie" is the industry term. Wire ties, tie wraps, and hose ties are interchangeable names.
Are they strong enough for automotive use?
Yes -- 18 lbs tensile handles under-dash wiring, sensor cables, and small hoses. For engine compartments, use UV-resistant black nylon 66. Heavy-gauge battery cables need 50-120 lbs ties.
Can I use them outdoors?
Yes with the black UV-resistant version. Carbon black protects against sun degradation. Natural (clear) nylon ties are indoor only -- they become brittle with UV exposure.
How many cables fit in a 4" tie?
Max bundle diameter: 0.87" (22 mm). Fits ~4-6 CAT6 cables, 8-12 x 18 AWG wires, or one 3/4" conduit. Larger bundles need 8" or 11" sizes.
Are these UL listed?
Yes -- UL Listed under UL 62275 for cable management systems. UL 94 V-2 flammability rated. Suitable for use inside electrical panels requiring UL compliance.
