Stainless steel cable ties are a separate material path for defined environments. Grade, coating, locking design, tooling and evidence must be matched to the selected SKU.

Start with the exposure
Describe salt, moisture, chemicals, temperature, abrasion, vibration, cleaning and service access. Stainless steel is not a universal answer; the environment and installation determine the relevant evidence.
Confirm grade and coating
Request the declared steel grade, coating or surface treatment, locking design, dimensions and material records. Do not infer a grade from a product title or assume every coated and uncoated model shares the same scope.
Review the installation tool
Confirm cutting, tensioning, edge protection, access, tail finish and operator method. A sample should be installed on the representative route and checked for burrs, clearance and serviceability.
Separate stainless from nylon alternatives
Compare materials against the actual environment, bundle, movement and documentation requirement. Do not transfer a nylon certificate, test result or factory scope to a stainless item.
Order by controlled SKU
Keep model, drawing, grade, coating, packaging, inspection plan, factory allocation and certificate/test-report scope in the order record. Confirm current availability and quote assumptions separately.

Is stainless steel always better than nylon?
No. It is a different material choice. Compare the environment, installation, cost, handling, bundle and documentation requirement.
Can 304 or 316 be assumed from a generic stainless listing?
No. Ask for the exact grade and applicable material record for the proposed SKU.
What should a stainless RFQ include?
State exposure, grade/coating requirement, dimensions, locking design, tooling, quantity, packaging, destination and evidence needed for the order.
